Fortune Talent FAQs

Why don't you quote specific pricing on your website?
In order to accurately quote prices, we need specific information from you, the customer, such as the date of the event, the hours, the location, and the services you are interested in. So many factors will affect the price of a DJ including the time of year and day of the week.

Can I request a specific DJ to perform for my event?
Absolutely! Our DJs work exclusively for our company and if available for your date, then by all means, yes! DJ requests come on a first come, first served basis.

Can you play music for a wedding ceremony?
We certainly can. We offer a smaller, compact sound system with CD players, a wireless microphone and a mic stand, perfect for wedding ceremonies, whether it be at the location of the reception or off-site. The price for this system varies depending on the hours and location.

Do your DJs play music videos?
Unfortunately they do not. We have not had enough demand for videos to jusify the investment.

What kind of downpayment is required for your disc jockeys?
In most cases, we require a deposit which comes out to about 35-40% of the total price, along with a signature on our contract.

Is the DJ the master of ceremonies or does he only play music?
All of our DJs are experienced on the microphone and will be happy to announce anything you would like them to. They can speak as much or as little as you wish.

Does the DJ take breaks througout the evening?
No breaks. The music is non-stop from the first song to the end of the night!

Will your DJs play requests from guests?
Certainly, unless the customer has specifically requested the DJ not to.

How do we go about picking all of our special songs and traditional dances?
We have a handy form right here on our website that allows you to be very detailed about all of the songs and dances at your wedding. It also allows you to list your wedding party and other attendants if you would like them introduced, and pick up to 30 of your favorite dance songs and even songs that you don't want the DJ to play.

Do any of your disc jockeys use computers for their music?
No. Although computers make music organization and selection easier for the DJ, there is no customer advantage to this. Plus, there is a sacrifice in the sound quality of compressed audio files and a computerized DJ is rendered helpless in the event of a computer "crash". In addition, some computerized DJs actually use their software to pre-mix sets of music ahead of time. All of our disc jockeys play their music, hand selected one song at a time from a 100% compact disc format with multiple CD players. We were the first to go 100% digital with compact discs and we still are 100% digital.

Is your music in a digital format?
Absolutely! Our disc jockeys play from a 100% digital compact disc format. The CD was the original medium for digital music and is still the best choice for crisp, clean sound quality. We do not use vinyl, cassette tapes, or computers with reduced quality compressed audio files. We want the music at your event to sound the best it can.

Why did you change the format of your website?
Our old website was developed in 2001 using Flash. Unfortunately, Apple computers (Mac, iPad) and many mobile devices do not support Flash. Although our old website was much more interesting and colorful to look at, the Flash content was invisible to google search engines limiting our exposure so we felt it was in our best interest to make the change.
